Job Description Summary
In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading the overall global commodity strategy for Steam Turbine Airfoils across GE Vernova Gas Power, representing spend of ~$70M. You will also be accountable for developing a stable supply chain with expanded capacity in support to the business ramp up. This will require working directly with P&Ls, functions, and regions to drive the strategy and deliver on the cost out commitments to the business.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
· Lead the development & execution of global sourcing strategies for the Steam Turbine Airfoils and work closely with the rest of the Airfoils Global commodity leaders to maximize variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals.
· Provide Regional support for the overall Airfoils Commodity
· Be responsible for delivering key sourcing metrics to include: deflation, Product Cost Out (PCO), cash, lead time reduction, On Time Delivery (OTD) and quality improvement from the supply base
· Develop negotiations strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives in accordance with the strategy, drive supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management.
· Lead the execution of development milestones while expediting global sourcing strategies to meet total capacity needs
·Be an active partner with the supply chain to develop optimal make vs. buy strategies to optimize total landed cost for the commodity
· Drive Sourcing initiatives including best cost country (BCC), productivity, rationalization of supply base, sole source reduction, cycle reduction, on time delivery and quality improvements, Six Sigma / lean, and cash flow improvement
· Drive commodity specialties within the P&Ls and regions supporting business functions to achieve total best cost and value
· Interface with Business Sourcing Leaders and functional owners to understand business priorities and determine appropriate commodity growth strategies
· Develop complex, global and comprehensive supplier / buyer contractual and strategic relationships
· Develop strategic long-term Blueprint for the commodity as well as yearly Op plan commitments. Communicate accordingly establishing a reporting rigor for metrics and execution
· Understand business compliance requirements and drive opportunities to eliminate compliance risk as well as driving initiatives to remediate concerns
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a technical discipline or equivalent experince
· Significant experience in Sourcing, Supplier Quality and / or Supply Chain.
- ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMNT: Willingness and ability to travel at least 30%
