Job Description Summary
The Technical Leader (m/f/d) in the Performance Engineering team will execute highly technical services on many turbine/plant configurations (Gas, Steam, Combined Cycle) both in the field and remotely. The successful execution of these global services will require adherence to internal processes while being open to challenges that may arise. Technical Leaders are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services. Areas of customer quality include accurate/timely documentation, appropriate/timely installation of instrumentation, accurate collection of field data, various site activities, and communications.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Oversee steam turbine test project execution and fulfillment risk globally
- Train and Mentor Lead Engineers
- Support development of testing critical competencies
- "Guide/Review/Support" Tool/Template Development
- Help set priority of special projects
- Lead/Support Performance Root Cause Analysis
- Engage engineering organization to pull in Principal Engineers when support is needed and additional influence is required across organizations
- Support Project Kickoff Meeting, Risk Review meetings / IDLN Tuning Calls
- Conduct internal on-site audits (1 functional audit a year)
- Support Commercial/Technical ITO discussions
- Provide insightful job performance feedback to Engineering Managers
- Consult on technical deliverables (procedures, data, calculations, reports, etc)
- Assist in quality initiatives and corrective actions (ownership or support)
- Maintain list of qualified vendors for fuel analyses
- Interact with TLs across the Performance Engineering team
- Competency Matrix maintenance and Technical Depth Assessment inputs and reviews
- Support onsite testing execution as needed for business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university or equivalent experince.
- Significant experience in the areas of steam turbine thermal performance testing and evaluation. Demonstrated expertise with applying and interpreting test code standards (ASME PTC 22, PTC 46, PTC 6 and PTC 6.2 Test Codes).

- Strong understanding of thermodynamic principles
- Advanced Engineering degree.
- Experience in design, testing, or operation of turbines in the field.
- Strong understanding of turbine design and operating philosophy.
- Direct working experience with turbine design, controls, and/or operation.
- Proficient in the use of GE Vernova thermal modeling tools (HBPro, GTP, Ebsilon).
- Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Must be a self - starter that can work issues to completion with little or no outside assistance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to business leaders and customers.
- Experience working with customers.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
- Desire for continual improvement and skills development.
