As Vice President of Data Value and Quality at Thomson Reuters, you will lead enterprise-wide initiatives that unlock the full business potential of our data assets. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving commercial value from foundational data, with a core emphasis on customer, product, and content data across our technology platforms.
You will build and scale capabilities in master data governance, quality, and integration—partnering closely with domain experts, technology leaders, product managers, and business stakeholders. Your mandate is to ensure trusted, accessible, and business-ready data that fuels AI, analytics, and next-gen product experiences.
About the Role
As Vice President, Data Value and Quality, your responsibilities will include:
Business Value
Define and execute a data value strategy that aligns MDM and quality initiatives to commercial growth, AI innovation, and operational efficiency.
Build strong executive partnerships across Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to translate data into measurable business outcomes.
Master Data Management
Establish and evolve enterprise MDM programs covering customer, product, legal entity, and content metadata.
Oversee implementation of MDM platforms, data mastering logic, and stewardship workflows across systems and regions.
Collaboration on the development of creative and technologically sound solutions on the MDM platform to meet or exceed business requirements
Assess all major impacts of solutions on the enterprise data model, and coordinate and communicate impacts to downstream systems, monitoring quality, SLAs, and governance
Data Quality & Governance
Build and activate a network of data stewards across TR to promote consistent enterprise data practices and ensure data quality.
Define and lead enterprise data governance and quality frameworks, including data profiling and cataloging, rule definition, monitoring, and remediation.
Drive adoption of data governance policies, standards, and accountability mechanisms across domains and teams.
Oversee the management and evolution of data governance and management platforms.
Implement data cleansing and data enrichment processes in production to drive meaningful improvement in customer and product data.
Monitor data pipelines and data flows to ensure data integrity and completeness.
Leadership & Execution
Build and lead a high-performing team of MDM and data quality professionals.
Act as a key advisor to the Head of Data and Analytics, and influence investment decisions, data architecture, and platform priorities.
Build relationships across core data stakeholder groups to promote trust in enterprise data assets and establish productive partnerships with data owners.
About You
To be considered for the role of Vice President, Data Value and Quality, you will have:
15+ years of experience in enterprise data strategy, MDM, and data quality leadership roles.
Proven track record of delivering business value through data initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations—experience in legal technology or information services a strong plus.
Deep expertise in customer and product data domains, MDM platforms, data integration, and data quality tooling.
Experience with data profiling, data cleansing, reconciliation and data matching techniques
Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and regulatory considerations (e.g., data privacy, AML/KYC).
Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence and align across C-suite stakeholders.
Passion for building high-trust, cross-functional data cultures that enable AI transformation and customer-centricity.
Prior experience working within MDM tools and platforms such as Semarchy xDM, Informatica, Profisee, SAP MDG, etc.
Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g. MS, AWS, Snowflake, DataBricks, etc.)
