The Department of Business Law and Taxation (Prof. Robert Danon) of the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC Lausanne) invites application for a Research Assistant/PhD Candidate in International and/or Swiss Tax Law.

Duration of contract: 1 year, renewable twice for two years (i.e. a maximum duration of 5 years)
Activity rate: 80%
Work place: University of Lausanne, Lausanne-Dorigny
Your responsibilities
- The selected candidate will undertake a doctoral thesis in law (PhD) relating to International and/or Swiss Tax Law, for example in matters such as dispute prevention and resolution (including international arbitration) or the implementation of the global minimum tax.
- The candidate will be integrated in the research team of the Tax Policy Center of the University of Lausanne (for further information please see : www.unil.ch/taxpolicy), focusing in particular on (i) international tax dispute resolution (including investment arbitration), (ii) tax treaties and transfer pricing and (iii) international tax policy.
- 50% of the regular working hours will be spent on the preparation of the doctoral thesis.
- 50 % of the regular working hours will be spent assisting with teaching and research in Swiss and/or international tax law, as well as student supervision.
- The selected candidate will also participate in scientific conferences in Switzerland and overseas as well as to the preparation of policy inputs to consultations organized by international organizations.
Your qualifications
- Master’s degree in Law
- An LL.M in International Law would be an advantage
- Interest for international tax law, international investment law and public international law in general
- Desire to write a doctoral thesis in one of these fields
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Fluency in English. Fair command of French and/or German would be an advantage.
