The Lead, Economic Growth, will contribute to the design, development and delivery of the Centre’s work on economic growth and foresight. The role combines strong economic expertise, analytical skills and the ability to connect insights to action, engaging senior public- and private-sector stakeholders, contributing to the Centre’s efforts to shape and drive a forward-looking economic agenda.
Reporting lines and interactions
The role will report to the Head of the corresponding thematic Mission and will work closely with colleagues across the Centre and the Forum to deliver outcomes efficiently.
Main responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of key initiatives on economic growth and foresight, supporting a coherent set of research outputs and engagement processes in the Centre’s leading work on economics.
Conduct and coordinate economic analysis, leveraging quantitative and qualitative data, and translate it into high-quality, actionable insights for public and private stakeholders, supporting the next phases of the Future of Growth Initaitive.
Draft scenarios, identify business implications and accelerate business engagement, supporting the Scenarios for the Global Economy Initiative.
Support data development, narrative creation and business engagement throught the Global Risks Initiative.
Develop and curate related stakeholder communities, initiating, expanding and maintaining strategic relationships with key constituencies, including leading economists, business, and governments, and managing stakeholder workshops and dialogues.
Work in close collaboration with the Centre’s other mission teams on topical alignment and with functional practices for alignment on methodologies and strategic goals.
Represent the Centre internally and externally as needed.
Contribute to Centre-wide planning, communications and culture.
The successful candidate will be assessed on
Strong conceptual grounding in economic analysis, policy and business applications, combined with interdisciplinary thinking.
Ability to develop and deliver a combination of high-quality insight, stakeholder dialogues and collaboration initiatives in a complex, fast-paced environment, with multiple workstreams and contributors.
Capacity to connect macroeconomic and structural trends to business strategy, policy design and systems-level impact.
Capacity to translate complex economic analysis and uncertainties into accessible, engageable and actionable insights for a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders from the public and private sectors and convene constructive multi-stakeholder dialogues, synthesizing diverse viewpoints into coherent narratives.
Requirements and preferred experience
Advanced university degree in economics or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge of global macroeconomic issues, policy and business implications. Candidates who have completed digital accreditations or taken different routes to upskilling are welcome to apply.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience across economics-focused roles in think tanks, international organizations, government, business, consulting or related sectors.
Demonstrated expertise in economic research, scenarios design, and related thought leadership.
Demonstrated ability to manage, engage and work collectively with high-level stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in other languages is an asset.
Proficiency in digital tools for project management, insight curation, data visualization and data analysis.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, inclusive approach to problem-solving and delivery.
Strong alignment with the Forum's mission and experience working in international and cross-sectoral teams.
