We’re looking for a visionary Head of Industrial Design to lead the design of our next generation humanoid. You’ll play a central role in shaping how our robots look, feel, and interact with the world – balancing cutting-edge form with rugged functionality. This appeals to you
- Lead and grow our industrial design function, setting creative direction and design standards
- Define and evolve the physical identity of our robots across multiple industry use cases
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and scalable
- Conduct customer research and integrate feedback from customers and field deployments into design iterations
- Balance aesthetics with ergonomics, robustness, durability, and compliance across multiple industrial environments
- Prototype and iterate using 3D modeling, mockups, and field testing
- Build and maintain an library of digital assets to support your function as well as marketing, product, and engineering.
- Build and manage relationships with external design firms and manufacturing partners as needed
- Contribute to go-to-market efforts by supporting marketing and sales with visual assets and product storytelling
This is you
- 8+ years of industrial design experience, ideally in robotics
- Experience designing products for multi-industry deployment
- A strong portfolio of customer-centered, functional, and visually compelling designs
- Experience taking complex mechatronics products from concept through production
- Fluency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray)
- Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical constraints
- Excellent collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional technical teams
- Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to execute and inspire

About Us
Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon - a global leader in precision measurement and digital reality solutions. The humanoid initiative was launched in 2023 and in 2025 a dedicated Robotics division was created to help industrial customers achieve a higher degree of autonomy using humanoid robots. Our first humanoid, AEON, was officially launched on June 17, 2025.
