Role Purpose
As the Global Head of Medical Affairs Operations, you are entrusted with providing strategic direction and exceptional leadership to the Global Medical Affairs Operations Communities and Groups. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless design, execution, and monitoring of globally approved medical affairs, evidence generation and access programs. By collaborating with partners across Pharma Development, Pharma International, pRED, gRED Global Pharma Strategy, CMG and Roche Affiliates, you will align these efforts with harmonized and mutually agreed-upon processes. This alignment will enable you to drive consistency, efficiency, and lasting impact across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the full spectrum of line-management responsibilities, including recruitment, compensation strategies, development, training, performance management, succession planning, and talent retention.
Foster and nurture a purpose-driven, high-performance team culture by cultivating a motivated, well-trained, and agile workforce capable of delivering excellence in the execution of operational strategies.
Drive collaboration and facilitate seamless communication across a diverse array of stakeholders and functional teams to ensure alignment and synergy.

Strategic Leadership

Assume end-to-end oversight of global medical affairs data generation and access programs, ensuring consistent updates on program or trial execution against predefined plans, while performing meticulous workload evaluations.
Build and maintain exemplary relationships across the global matrix, fostering effective collaboration between Medical Affairs, Affiliates, and other pivotal global functions or divisions.
Partner closely with regulatory and safety functions to establish and maintain robust, compliant processes and operational practices that meet stringent regulatory requirements and Roche's global standards.
Represent PDMA as a key contributor in high-impact, cross-functional, and cross-divisional initiatives, driving alignment and transformative outcomes.
Compliance
Ensure rigorous adherence to all applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements, including Roche's Code of Conduct, directives, and guidelines.
Lead by example in prioritizing the completion of all mandated training modules and hold the PDMA Medical Affairs Operations team to the same uncompromising standards, fostering a culture of accountability and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities
Oversee and drive critical HR decisions, including those related to the structuring and development of the team.
Lead the design, refinement, and governance of systems, procedures, and processes that underpin medical operations activities.
Steer effective budget management practices to optimize financial stewardship and achieve strategic goals.
Provide final approval for vendor selection, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and organizational standards.

Who you are
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and / or Clinical Research Organizations
Deep expertise in Clinical Operations
An experienced leader with proven record of accomplishment in managing people
Proven experience as a successful, decisive leader in a global strategic multifunctional environment
International Clinical Trial Management experience including the conduct of non-registration trials, observational trials, and the set-up of Investigator Sponsored Trials
Develop and maintain standard working practices and processes to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of Global Product Development Medical Affairs data-generation or access programs
Timely execution of the Global medical affairs data generation or access programs, including budget
Affiliate alignment on Roche internal agreed processes related to the conduct of Global Product Development Medical Affairs data generation programs
Fluency in written and spoken English
