Purpose of the role

To provide assurance over the effectiveness of Compliance Risk Management across the bank. 

Accountabilities

• Development and refresh of the Compliance Assurance Annual Plan, ensuring that the Annual Plan focuses on areas of highest risk and value in relation to Compliance Risk.
• Delivery of risk-based assurance activity to validate the effectiveness of controls and processes designed to mitigate Compliance Risk.
• Identification of potential risks associated with non-compliance or control weaknesses in relation to Compliance Risk.
• Verbal and written communication of Compliance Assurance reports and issues to enhance the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management and oversight.
• Build, development and maintenance of effective relationships between Compliance Assurance and stakeholders across the three lines of defence.
• Proactive adoption of Data Analytics capabilities to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and coverage of Assurance work.
• Continued focus on the Barclays Mindset and Consistently Excellent to enhance the Assurance that we deliver, how it is delivered and the culture within the bank.

Join us as a Compliance Assurance Specialist in our Geneva office.

As a Compliance Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for primarily leading and executing Private Bank and Wealth Management assurance reviews and issue validation to assess and report on Conduct and Reputational Risk Management. You will be ensuring compliance with applicable Laws, Rules and Regulations.

The successful candidate will bring regulatory expertise, a strong understanding of the Private Bank and Wealth Management landscape, the ability to deliver review findings and experience of stakeholder management at senior levels.

The successful candidate will be the sole CA representative in the Geneva office and will be the key local point of contact for Geneva stakeholders. It is essential that any candidate is comfortable with working in this environment.

Essential skills:

• Understanding of Private Bank and Wealth Management marketplace
• Strong understanding of risk and control with experience of controls testing – ideally within an audit/assurance environment
• Experience of regulatory risk management
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively to senior SMEs
• Ability to deliver high-quality analytical work, in a timely manner

Desirable skills:

• Experience of utilising Data Analytics in support of audit/assurance testing
• Experience in working with the UK, Swiss and other regulators and auditing against their requirements
• Track record of successfully delivering assurance reviews or similar risk and controls reports
• Track record of using data driven and risk-based approach to drive annual planning
