Scope of the Job
- Manage and optimize logistics processes around transportation and warehousing
- Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers and customers
- Ensure transport and 3rd party warehousing efficiency across the assigned footprint. Provide global alliance management for external logistics service providers including freight forwarders and 3PLs
- Ensure 3rd party and own logistics cost are in line with set cost targets and agreed support service level improvements at Nexxiot
- Support the demand planning activities (SIOP) by providing inventory and delivery data
- Ensure that all requirements and regulations for global trade are fulfilled and customs processes are in line with legal and company policy
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that orders are transmitted in full to the logistics providers, control tower and warehouse
- Supervise global logistics activities and ensure that supplies are delivered on time
- Implement and maintain best practices in transportation and warehouse operations
- Drive formal methodology and deliverables for logistics
- Support the global sourcing and procurement process for transportation and warehouse operations
- Establish and manage a freight control tower including the freight bill audit process
- Become a super user for Business Central (ERP) software for item master data, inbound, outbound and inventory functionality and provide operational support as needed
- Develop and document process descriptions, work instructions and training materials
- Perform carrier and warehouse performance analysis and ensure corrective action is taken in case non-conformities are not in line with the service level agreement (SLA)
- Provide transport and warehousing best practices are available and followed and controls and measures are in place and corrective actions are taken where and when required
- Ensure the right tools (including IT) are available and are being developed further
- Initiate and facilitate change management programs
- Conduct further network modeling to reflect changes in the customer structure or a modified footprint of internal and external suppliers
- Propose logistics solutions and value added services for customers
- Run / lead cost reduction / quality improvement programs in logistics
- Initiate and co-lead process improvement projects at transportation and warehousing ensuring alignment between service requirements and total logistics cost
- Lead conflict resolution when necessary, supporting the local responsible
- Monitor LSP Service levels proposing corrective actions (based on the market trend & supply chain constraints). Collect input from local responsible and propose solutions on Group level.
Education & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or Diploma in logistics or supply chain management
- Excellent logistics and freight forwarding knowledge and practical experience in continuous process improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, basic customs understanding
- Good project management and process design skills
- IT literate – ERP knowledge and preferably also familiar with optimization tools are regarded an asset
- Lean Logistics Certification
- A good understanding of what the customer needs. Some business acumen. Commercially aware and able to balance cost and performance well
- Leading skills are necessary, able to cope with conflict resolution
- Team Player with strong communication skills
- High degree of assertiveness, cultural sensitivity and flexibility
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a logistics management role
