The Production Technical Lead will oversee the operational strategy of studio, auditorium, and event production facilities for an established global technology client. This key role is responsible for:
- Managing the operations of regional video engineering needs, operational design, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting all aspects of the client’s production facilities and control rooms
- Partnering with the internal events, client, and event management teams to collaborate on the technical strategy for events
- Mentoring team members and collaborating on the development of training programs to develop personnel and ensure they have the skillset and technical knowledge to effectively perform their roles.
- Leading the development and documentation of best practices for all regional event spaces including production and technology configurations to ensure top level of production quality and consistency.
- Design the structure regional preventative maintenance procedures and facility plans to ensure locations remain operationally ready.
- Perform and execute onsite quarterly and annual maintenance for all sites within regional assignment.
- Serve as the primary escalation point of contact for all equipment troubleshooting, service and maintenance needs with assigned region.
- Determine repair and maintenance needs and then facilitate resolutions to ensure operational readiness of client facility.
- Ensure all discrepancies are communicated and resolved to the clients’ satisfaction and in a timely manner.
- Oversee the operational approach to fulfill creative production needs for client events, including but not limited to technical direction, audio mixing, robotic cameras, virtual platforms, graphics, video playback, streaming, and lighting design.
What you bring to the table | We are looking for employees who inspire
- 7+ years of experience in the area of event production, broadcast, video production, or another similar field.
- Video engineering and strategic technical management experience
- Experience with control room equipment including video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback software.
- A keen eye for detail with a knowledge of what creatively works well for broadcast production.
- Track record of being strategic, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere, as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential.
- Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high pressure situations.
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective.
- Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with the understanding of the importance of white glove service.
- Ability to communicate challenging aspects to clients while maintaining a high level of confidence and leadership.
- Consistent proactive preparation and timely responses to multiple channels of communication.
- Experience with Ross production environments and video switchers including Ultrix routers, Carbonite and Ultra switche
- Experience with audio production systems including Yamaha audio consoles, Dante audio routing networks, Shure microphones, and intercom systems.
- Experience with Panasonic PTZ Cameras.
- Preferably a degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or similar field.
