Global Category Manager Capex Engineering - Your next role?
As the Global Category Manager Capex Engineering, you will develop and implement global Engineering Services strategy for CAPEX (and related tactical plans) to source the IM&S categories and secure supply in line with business plan. You will lead global cross functional sourcing for Capex Engineering Services and support the CAPEX design phases of the projects at global level and the development of the
procurement strategies for the single projects in collaboration with the Stakeholders and the RCM's.
You will directly report to the Sr. Global Category Manager CAPEX & Equipment and can be based either in Kemptthal or Vernier (Switzerland), Dortmund (Germany), Argenteuil or Avignon (France), Naarden (Netherlands).
Your main responsibilities will include:
Sourcing Strategy
-
Drive the development and implementation of global category strategy within the framework of the global procurement strategy

Analyze market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio
-
Lead global sourcing strategy development within cross functional teams including regional category managers for relevant categories

Drive global sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and key negotiations
Portfolio Management
-
Negotiate contracts globally
-
Select, manage and audit suppliers
-
Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and actively involve and engage stakeholders in development of optimization plans

Own key supplier relationship, and lead escalated supplier conflict resolutions

Link with Site Buyers, Regional Category Managers, Regional IM&S Heads and sourcing centers to identify alternative suppliers in other geographies, deploy global strategies, contracts and framework agreements, collect supplier performance feedback and ensure supplier performance at target levels

Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate them to suppliers
Stakeholder Relationship

Actively support internal stakeholder and IM&S Regional category managers in defining and implementing the procurement strategy for the Engineering Services globally

Represent procurement in the project steering committees, acting as a project team member and participating to the strategical and tactical decisions along CAPEX projects design phases and and Procurement Strategy Definition

Communicate to key internal stakeholders (Engineering, Finance, Ops Heads)/Global Category Managers any market conditions changes which may affect the Business

Actively support the responsible sourcing projects implementation & provide information to Procurement Sustainability Manager when needed

Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate/influence business stakeholders to drive cost improvements
Cost Optimization and Business Planning

Prepare initiative plans and forecasts in line with business budget cycle

Develop cost reduction projects

Provide price forecast and market trends for key commodities and services influencing the category
AI/Technology

Leverage AI and advanced technologies to enhance procurement processes and decision-making
-
Implement digital tools for data analysis, supplier performance tracking, and market trend forecasting to drive efficiencies and improve sourcing strategies

Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends that can impact the category, ensuring the organization remains competitive and innovative

Collaborate with IT and data analytics teams to develop technology solutions that support procurement objectives and enhance stakeholder engagement
Your successful profile includes:

University degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or other technical field
-
Specific procurement education is beneficial
-
At least 7 years of experience in procurement of technical categories, with minimum 5 years of experience in CAPEX procurement/Engineering/Design Services Procurement
-
Experience in engineering services sourcing and EPC/EPCM project execution model
-
Experience running tenders with high complexity
-
International exposure in previous role
-
Fluent in English, French or German proficiency is beneficial
