Category Manager Raw Materials – Fillers & Minerals (m/w/d)

Your responsibilities
- Lead supplier price and contract negotiations to secure optimal terms and conditions
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals
- Drive cost reduction initiatives across assigned categories
- Establish and maintain a strategic supplier panel to ensure long-term supply security
- Share relevant market insights with internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making
- Organize and conduct regular business review meetings with key suppliers
- Ensure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms through strategic sourcing
- Draft, manage, and ensure compliance with supplier contracts
- Meet key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on cost management and supplier performance
- Build strong supplier relationships and secure long-term contingency planning
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives
- Engage in active communication and negotiation with suppliers to achieve best-value outcomes
Our requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or at equal level through experience; in-depth understanding and knowledge of the industry is a plus
- Proven track record of over 5 years in the procurement or supply chain sector, with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cost-saving initiatives, achieving measurable improvements in efficiency and profitability
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex contract negotiations
- Forward thinking, self-directed, capable of taking independent actions, and ability to take decisions that drive business performance
- Project management skills to support procurement initiatives
- Knowledge of computer software, including ERP systems and digital procurement tools
- Fluent in written and oral English (Level C1), any other language is a plus
- Willingness to travel (approx. 5-10%)
