Translational Science Lead m/f/d
- Strategically direct global, integrated translational sciences activities, ensuring high-quality and swift deliverables to create sustained value for patients and the business;
- Develop translational strategies from pre-clinical stages, ensuring critical input and continued support of preclinical projects, including designing companion diagnostics;
- Establish and steer strategic partnerships with technology providers and key opinion leaders to maximize value for the oncology portfolio;
- Ensure timely delivery of TS milestones and mitigate roadblocks to effectively execute the Translational Sciences strategy;
- Guide preclinical evaluation and validation of new oncology assets, focusing on value, differentiation, and unmet medical needs;
- Lead motivated and engaged teams, fostering effective team behaviour to achieve development program goals;
- Take accountability to further develop the Translational Science Oncology (TSO) organization beyond assigned programs to strengthen team setup and resilience;
- Generate and analyse translational research and clinical biomarker data sets to drive accelerated clinical development and competitive drug labels;
- Inform clinical development and enable go/no-go decision making based on pre-defined clinically relevant TS criteria;
- Provide comprehensive knowledge of the scientific, development, and regulatory landscape to enable state-of-the-art early precision drug development;
- Lead interactions with academic and industry partners, health authorities, key opinion leaders, and patient advocacy groups to drive the TSO development portfolio;
- Support the Head of TSO to deliver on the functional strategy, driving the evolution of the functional strategy through thought leadership.
- Medical doctor (MD) and/or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or equivalent;
- Demonstrated scientific excellence with a track record of relevant basic and/or translational research documented in peer-reviewed publications;
- 8-10 years of industry experience in biomarkers/precision medicine with proven leadership success;
- Ability to integrate innovation to advance Precision Medicine in oncology;
- Established network of Key Opinion Leaders and relevant external companies;
- Experience with global health authority interactions for both drug and device divisions;
- Understanding of scientific, commercial, ethical, and legal aspects in the field;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluency in English, oral and written);
- Strategic thinking and foresight with outstanding business and external trends insights;
- Focus on outcomes, independently defining and delivering on highest and aspirational pipeline, team, talent, and organizational impact outcomes;
- Ability to act, learn fast, and evolve, working in 90-day cycles and applying learnings swiftly.
