InterAx Biotech is among the leading GPCR drug discovery teams in industry.

Our in-house expertise includes atomic, molecular, cellular and organism levels, as well as all key stages of drug discovery and early drug development. We leverage unique mathematical models of cell signaling, leading expertise in real-time experimental cellular assays, deep understanding of GPCR pharmacology – the largest class of drug targets, state-of-the-art suite of computational chemistry and machine learning / AI tools, and exceptional medicinal chemistry and drug development expertise.

We are currently expanding the InterAx team in Zurich area of Switzerland, and seeking a Technician / Associate Scientist to support our assay development and drug screening activities. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work in the lab, is detail-oriented, organized and has a strong interest in optimizing experimental workflows and explore opportunities for automation.

Primary responsibilities

• Develop and perform a variety of kinetic cell signaling assays for GPCRs (BRET / FRET-based assays)
• Perform and monitor mammalian cell culture
• Conduct molecular biology techniques including cell transfection and ELISAs for biomarker quantification
• Document, analyze and present experimental data to the team
• Support laboratory organization including management of material orders, inventory and equipment

Education
Master degree in Biology or a related field. Or a Bachelor degree or a completed apprenticeship with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in a biotech- or pharma environment is preferred
• Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture
• Experience with cellular signaling and drug screening assays
• Proficiency with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism, or R
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
• Good communication skills and fluency in English
