Description
This position is ideal for an experienced engineer to join the Strategic Sourcing and Category Management team as a Sr. Sourcing Manager – Capital Equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with our Operations, Quality, and R&D departments to support the sourcing of equipment and technical operations. You would support the Engineering strategy, help identify and support the qualification of secondary sources and manage sourcing events. This position is based fully onsite; office presence in Rotkreuz is mandatory 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sourcing activities for capital equipment and related categories, contributing to supplier evaluations and selection processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and align sourcing strategies with operational needs.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing supplier contracts, proposals, and cost models at the direction of the engineering team.
- Provide input on supplier performance, risk assessments, and improvement opportunities based on engineering and operational insights.
- Participate in sourcing strategy discussions and help implement initiatives that drive cost savings, quality improvements, and lead-time reductions.
- Leverage prior engineering experience to assess equipment reliability and inform sourcing recommendations.
- Coordinate with global sourcing and category management teams to ensure alignment with broader procurement goals.
- Contribute to documentation and reporting for sourcing projects, including status updates and issue tracking.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6-10 years of relevant technical experience
- Experience with sourcing
- An understanding of supply chain and optimization
- Effective communication and data interpretation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort and experience in developing and defining process, versus following process
- To be a self-starter and independent thinker
- Experience with cross-functional teams
- Effective project and time management skills
- Experience in the Medical Devices or Technology industry a plus
