We are looking for a Smart Factory Solution Architect to expand our Manufacturing & Product Lifecycle Applications team. Our team is crafting a cutting-edge manufacturing platform that will revolutionize our factories around the globe, leveraging state-of-the-art technology to redefine the industry.
Your Role: A Catalyst for Change
As a Smart Factory Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role at the forefront of Straumann`s digital transformation journey, enhancing our manufacturing sites with an IIoT platform that bridges the gap to Industry 4.0
Embedded within the Global Business Applications department, you will be responsible for application components of the architecture, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and deliver exceptional performance.
You will work on a dynamic ecosystem of software, orchestrated around a micro-service architecture, seamlessly connecting the edge to the cloud. You’ll collaborate with autonomous, cross-functional teams and external suppliers, to identify applications and develop end-to-end features. From concept to deployment, you will take charge of the entire process, working alongside our global functional teams under the guidance of our Global SMART Factory Solutions Architect.

Work with diverse project teams to understand data requirements, providing insights on data structure, availability, and usage.Document and Specify:
Develop comprehensive documentation and specifications for systems and components, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.Maintain and Review:
Ensure the ongoing maintenance and optimization of systems, working closely with team members, externals and stakeholders to address issues, implement improvements and perform testing/code review, to ensure the quality delivered products.Evolve and lead:
Embark on a structured development path to grow into an application Architect role. Through continuous learning, mentorship, and hands-on experience, you will gain expertise required to excel and drive innovation in our Smart Factory initiatives.

Your Skills:
Experience:
- 5+ years collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Background in application development and customization
SCRUM
methodology
- Working previously in manufacturing area is a plus
Technical Proficiency:
- Databases, Scripting (JS, Python) and web languages
- Event-Driven technology (MQTT, Kafka) and API interfaces
- DevOps CI/CD practices
- Container orchestration, Cloud Environments
- IoT/IIoT & Industry 4.0 Concept
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to translate business needs into innovative technical solutions.
