Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.
Global Process Development (GPD) is part of Integrated Biologics (Integrated Biologics | CDMO | Lonza). GPD is a focused group of senior subject matter experts (SMEs), with extensive experience in process development science. The team are responsible for the implementation of strategic technology programs and provision of SME support across the Lonza global Integrated Biologics network of sites. As a subject matter expert in upstream or downstream processing, you will support the delivery of the business objectives and priorities of GPD. This will include leading and managing the delivery of projects that implement technology changes or drive cross-site alignment across the network. You will demonstrate high levels of autonomy to lead matrix teams to deliver successful outcomes. The role can be based in Visp, Switzerland, or Slough, UK, from where you will support both the local site and the wider Integrated Biologics global network.

Experience of scale-up or production or purification of proteins at GMP manufacturing scales is advantageous.
Experience of process characterisation and validation of upstream or purification processes is advantageous.
Experience leading matrix teams to deliver successful outcomes
Be a subject matter expert in 2 or more relevant areas within upstream or downstream for biologic drug substance process development and manufacturing.
Experience using digital tools to provide advanced data analysis of bioprocesses in development and manufacture.
Proven track record of Project management of multi-functional/multi-workstream projects to meet agreed milestones and scop.
Externally and globally recognized as a subject matter expert in 2 or more relevant areas within downstream process development and manufacturing for biologic drug substance.
Experience of using multivariate data analysis to drive process improvement and optimisation.
Use of root cause analysis tools to troubleshoot complex and ambiguous technical issues.
