Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Schaffhausen (Cilag AG) specializes in the production of pharmaceuticals and active ingredients. The Schaffhausen site plays a strategic role in launching and growing some of Johnson & Johnson's key pharmaceutical products. Utilizing advanced technologies and processes, this site manufactures a variety of pharmaceutical dosage forms and chemical active ingredients. We are currently looking for a Senior Validation Engineer Aseptic Process Simulation in MSAT (Manufacturing, Science & Technology) Biotherapeutics to enhance our team (1 year fixed-term contract).
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Senior Validation Engineer in MSAT, you, along with other team members, are responsible for Aseptic Process Simulation (Media Fill) and for Smoke Studies. You share responsibility for maintaining reliable processes within parenteral production in both clinical and commercial areas at the Schaffhausen site. You assist in further developing processes to enhance reliability, compliance, and efficiency, making them fit for future requirements. This involves collaborating in cross-functional teams within the site and exchanging knowledge with other locations worldwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- End-to-End responsibility for APS activities (initial and monitoring), as well as for Smoke Studies (protocol, execution supervision, report)
- Coordination of activities with internal partners and oversight of execution at the facilities
- Support investigations of process-related issues
- Assist experts during audits/inspections
- Provide technical assessments for change controls/CAPAs and deviations
- Propose and implement projects for process improvement/cost optimization
- Represent MSAT in cross-departmental projects
- Contribute to the digital transformation of MSAT (e.g., digitization and automation of reports, data management, visualization, evaluation of new technologies).
Qualifications:
As an ideal candidate, you have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

- Proficient in German and English, both in communication and negotiation.
- Customer-oriented and quality-conscious.
- Strong in decision-making and problem-solving.
- An innovative team player who can propose creative and pragmatic solutions.
