POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior Claims Analyst will be responsible for handling inward reinsurance claims in Property, Casualty, and Specialty lines for Zurich-domiciled Renaissance Re entities. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate claims handling aligned with reinsurance contract terms, internal protocols, and global reserving practices. This role will collaborate closely with Head of Claims-Zurich and global Claims Operations department to ensure timely review and settlements of valid claims. In addition, the Senior Claims Analyst is responsible for providing analysis and input to Reserving Actuaries, as well as providing essential support to Underwriters regarding all matters related to interactions with clients and brokers concerning claims.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Together with Head of Claims-Zurich, actively handle and oversee claims arising from a variety of classes of business including Property, Casualty and Specialty.
· Interpret reinsurance contracts and ensure claims are handled in accordance with coverage terms, best practices, and company procedures.
· Ensure timely, accurate reserving and processing of claims in alignment with global reserving policies.
· Engage regularly with other members of Claims department from other regions on various global projects and initiatives.
· Foster strong working relationships with cedents, brokers, and internal business units to support efficient claims handling and client trust.
· Collaborate with Claims Operations to maintain up-to-date and accurate claims systems and documentation.
· Contribute to the knowledge development and technical mentoring within the Claims department
· Participate in renewal meetings with Underwriters as required.
· Represent the company in external forums, including market meetings, client interactions, and market committees.
EXPECTED COMPETENCIES:
· A bachelors or university degree, or comparable relevant experience.
· Minimum 5 years of hands-on P&C reinsurance claims experience, preferably with exposure to Specialty Lines such as Marine, Energy, Credit, or Surety.
· Fully proficient, has in-depth reinsurance knowledge, works independently on moderate to high complex matters.
· Utilises solid technical claims analysis competence to achieve exemplary results and to manage and resolve issues.
· Skilled in stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration in a global environment.
· Proactive mindset with a commitment to process improvement, data accuracy, and service excellence.
· Responds to and troubleshoots moderate to highly complex inquiries/issues, both internally and externally.
