We are seeking a skilled and motivated scientist to strengthen our research in the reliability of power grid components and systems. In this role, you will bridge theory and application—developing and validating cutting-edge methods and technologies that support a more sustainable energy future.
How you’ll make an impact
Drive innovation in reliability analysis, reliability improvement, and prognostics & health management for power grid components and systems
Apply advanced techniques by combining reliability engineering, physics-of-failure insights, data analysis, mathematical modelling, and system tools to enhance the reliability of mission-critical equipment
Collaborate globally with researchers and engineers across Hitachi Energy Research and business units to solve real-world challenges and identify opportunities for improvement
Build strong networks within the company and with external partners, including universities, start-ups, and vendors
Share your knowledge through scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
Your background
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Solid experience in one or more of the following areas is required: statistical and probabilistic modelling (e.g., Bayesian inference, Monte Carlo simulations), mathematical modelling and simulation (e.g., Markov chains, Poisson processes, Petri nets), data science and machine learning
Familiarity with reliability engineering methods or condition health monitoring in domains such as mechanical or electronics is a strong plus
Proven track record of scientific publications in top-tier journals and conferences
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
