The KPM Center for Public Management at the University of Bern is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow as of 1. Januar 2026 or by arrangement.
The contract duration is 48 months.
For our research program "strategy work & organizational change in pluralistic settings, public organizations respectively", the research team Public Management and Organization at University of Bern's KPM Center for Public Management seeks to recruit a colleague for the following 48-month max. position, starting January 1, 2026.
Tasks
- To actively participate in the research program and also manage your own research project.
- To develop and contribute to joint publications.
- To develop and submit competitive grant proposals which, if accepted, will allow you to extend your employment.
- To co-supervise doctoral and master's students.
- Additionally, you will teach in our Public Management and Policy Master-Program and support the academic activities of our team.
Requirements
- You hold a PhD in public management, public administration, organizational sociology or in another subject pertinent to the public sector.
- You have a solid command of organizational theories and an evidenced experience in the use of qualitative research methods.
- In addition, you have already presented at international conferences as part of your doctoral studies and ideally, you have also published in international journals.
- Excellent German and English skills are a prerequisite.
- Familiarity with the Swiss polito-administrative system is an advantage.
