The team

The Operations Generalist role sits within the Middle Office Function and is primarily involved in the operations activities of Schroders & Co Bank AG. The role reports to the Head of Middle Office.

The Function covers operations, securities & fund execution, information & communication technology, business continuity & operational resilience, project management as well as formalities control for Schroders & Co Bank AG. It coordinates the related intra group outsourcing arrangements, provides operations services which remain in SCOBAG, coordinates the business continuity and operational resilience frameworks and ensures compliant client onboarding and documentation.

What you’ll do

Local Operations

  • Undertaking local back-office activities, which currently cover physical securities operations, cash & treasury operations, private assets operations, CRS and FATCA reporting, custodians, transfer agents and correspondent banks management
  • Coordinating the operational processes and related controls for local operations activities, ensuring the appropriate segregation of duties and the vital record keeping
  • Ensuring the coordination with Front-Office and the Wealth Management Operations teams in the UK to perform local operations activities timely and securely
  • Ensuring the documentation and maintenance of the procedures covering local operations activities and processes handled by Middle Office
  • Maintaining the related Risk & Control Assessments (RCA) in Archer (the Schroders operational risk tool)
  • Reporting and handling operational incidents

Outsourced Operations, Securities & Fund Execution Activities to Intra group Providers

  • Contributing to the monitoring of the provider and of the services delivered by the intra group providers undertaking Wealth Management operations for the Bank
  • Monitoring activities based on the periodic reports and critical metrics received from the provider
  • Bringing up issues highlighted by Front Office and Investment teams (delays, errors, etc.) in the monthly service and reconciliation calls and ensuring their follow-up with local collaborators
  • Participating to the bi-annually intra group providers’ due diligence exercises
  • Contributing to the documentation of the due diligence questionnaire received from the Schroders entities in relation to the custody and brokerage services provided by the Bank

Other activities

  • Handling all tasks related to the Wealth Management Pricing framework under the responsibility of the Middle Office, including the participation to the monthly Pricing Committee
  • Contributing to the New Product Process for the scope under the Middle Office Function and ensuring the organisation of the vital process and controls for any new operations activity that would need to be undertaken locally or in coordination with the Service Providers
  • Supplying to answering auditors’ requests (internal & external)
  • Chipping in to management reporting as required
  • Participating to projects as required

The Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications You Need

  • Higher education either in business administration or banking
  • Broad experience in the various back-office/operations areas, preferably in the Wealth Management Business
  • Specific product knowledge: private assets
  • Proficient in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office
