Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve wafer fabrication processes to ensure optimal throughput, yield, and cost efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Drive continuous improvement activities and use practices like e.g. Kaizen
- Work cross-functionally with Process and Equipment Engineering, Quality Engineering and Process Integration to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement.
- Accompany new product introductions (NPI) by coordinating process qualification and assessing production readiness.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), and process documentation.
- Participate in capacity planning, equipment qualification, and layout optimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide on-the-floor support for real-time production challenges and escalation management.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing or wafer fab environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process flows, cleanroom protocols, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), data analysis tools, and yield management software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with fab tools such as photolithography, etch, deposition, CMP, or implant.
- Knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Very good German and English language skills.
Skills & Other Requirements
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is a plus.
