Job Description
The Linux System Admin will have responsibility for:
- Providing day to day 2nd & 3rd level support for both hardware and software related to Linux environment within an international “Follow The Sun” team.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
- Manage the backup/restore
- Manage securing a system via granular user & folder permissions and out of upgrade cycle patching
- Manage script, monitoring, reporting tools etc…any improvement to have a better efficiency
- Manage load balancing and reverse proxy configuration and troubleshooting for Linux and Windows backend systems
- Will be involved in a large WW team including the Windows system admin part so familiarity/experience with Windows Server support and integration is a plus to keep the consistency between the 2 worlds
- Document standards and follow procedures
- Will be required to work beyond normal business hours and be on call
Qualifications
- Experience: Preferably at least 5-10 years’ experience similar position
- Very strong technical skills on Linux (Debian and RedHat) environment physical and virtualized
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl…)
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as SSSD with Active Directory, Docker, Apache, etc
- Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Rudder, Ansible
- Proficient with network tools such as iptables, nftables, tcpdump, postman etc
- Knowledge or interest on Azure/AWS administration and configuration via Terraform will be an advantage
- Familiarity/experience with Windows (Client and Server) support and integration is a plus
- Education: Preferably Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or related IT Course
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
