Position Overview - Tasks & Responsibilities:
The intern will support
- the study design, data quality assessment, analysis and results interpretation of an observational study,
- the development of computable phenotypes and proxy algorithms in secondary use of databases in collaboration with epidemiology analysts and safety physicians,
- fit-for-use and feasibility assessment of secondary data sources, and
- epidemiology study documents and related documents generated by other departments such as Global Drug Safety, Global Market Access, Global Clinical science and Global Medical Affairs.
The intern will work with other epidemiologists within the department and will be involved in the discussions to help contextualize and interpret the findings of epidemiology studies. The intern will also have an opportunity to participate in other department events (e.g., educational webinars, team meetings, networking, etc.).
Qualifications - Education and Experience:
- Holder of a master’s or PhD degree in epidemiology, public health, or a related field.
Qualifications - Skills:
- Has a good understanding of epidemiology study designs and analytical methods.
- Strong interest in pharmaco-epidemiological research.
- Strong interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Has good communication, collaboration, and networking skills.
- Has good presentation skills; fluent oral and written English.
