Cilag AG in Schaffhausen is part of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine and manufactures high quality pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and medical devices. Today Cilag AG is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Switzerland supplying all the major global markets. The Schaffhausen facility is a Johnson & Johnson strategic launch and growth site for parenteral products, and we have an impressive pipeline of new and innovative products.

Engineering Manager 80 % or 100 % Pensum:

The position will be located at the Schaffhausen site. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of project engineers while also leading technical projects him/herself as a project engineer. Thereby he/she will be contributing to design, installation and qualification of production and processing equipment for the launch of products as well as continuous improvement of the product supply chain capabilities in the fields of Parenterals Fill/Finish, Small Molecule API & Solids manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for Engineering project management and project execution to PDP standards, ensure projects completed on time and on budget
• Develops and coaches the team and ensures efficient deployment of Engineering personnel to achieve outstanding departmental performance
• Initiation of business cases supporting the project funding approval processes
• Responsible and accountable for the safe execution of job activities in compliance with EHS guidelines, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and team practices and procedures
• Close collaboration with stakeholders on site (Business Units, QA, EHS&S, etc) as well as with the global organization (MAM LM Platform, Engineering & Property Services)

Qualifications

Education:

• University degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical discipline

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• A minimum of 5 years of related business experience in life science and a proven track record in Project Engineering in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
• Five years of people management experience and the ability to develop talent is an asset
• Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
• Familiarity with project management approaches, engineering processes and design thinking methodology. Certification in FPX and or Lean processes are a plus.
• A sound business acumen and ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
• Self-driven, well-organized and able to set own targets, ability to set priorities under pressure and team player with influencing and strong analytical skills
• Extensive knowledge of cGMP and GxP regulations as well as technical standards is mandatory
• Other:
• Language skills: Fluency (oral and written) in German and English with exceptional communication skills
• This role may require occasionally regional travel, as needed (less than 10%)
