About you
Experience in at least one of the following fields: semantics, semiotics, visual semiotics, emoji, visual languages, planned languages. Language acquisition.
Experiencein leading successful creative projects
Communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams and effective messaging.
A passion for visual communication and a strong alignment with our mission to make language accessible to all.
Tasks:
Create descriptions for graphic designers on how to build icons representing words. This will involve semantic, semiotic, cultural research and more. You will also help us with the database for the App: add and organize icons, translate the icon meaning in several languages.
It is our aim to use IKON for teaching purposes such as language learning. So knowledge or experience in the field is appreciated
It is required to manage the expansion of the vocabulary and grammar selecting and discussing new words/grammar rules and organize the work with other linguists.
If experienced in language acquisition: You will collaborate with the linguist team and other teams to guide the development of strategies and frameworks to propose IKON as a language teaching tool, providing both educators and students a visual tool to integrate in the daily language learning routine
Availability: some hours per week.
