A Day in the Life
Medtronic is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsible for leading continuous improvement projects related to Quality and Productivity, eventually providing guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.In the role, you will own problems from end-to-end, you will manage complexity and interact directly with stakeholders to understand and minimize any impact to the business, eventually partaking in a 10-professional team based in the Swiss Manufacturing and Operations site of our organization (SMO), reporting directly to an Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Provide production support for implantable defibrillator and pacemaker products, monitor the performance of plant manufacturing processes and ensure action plans are in place to answer to deviations, design, adapt manufacturing processes and inspection systems to production condition.
- Lead continuous improvement projects related to Quality and Productivity, commission equipment including process validation and definition of SPC, define manufacturing Work Instruction and train Manufacturing collaborators.
- Provide guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
- Own problems from end-to-end, manage complexity, and interact directly with stakeholders to understand and minimize any impact to the business.
Required knowledge and experience
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience within the MedTech industry with strong expertise in process validation.
- Solid analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and 6-sigma skills with a team playing personality and capability to deliver in a cross-cultural, multitasking environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate changes.
- Fluency in both English, and French.
