The Role
As a Mechanical Engineering intern in the hardware team, you will drive the development, prototyping, and testing of complex, dexterous robotic hands and mechanisms.
Requirements
- Enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Proficiency in at least several of the following technical topics: CAD, DFA/DFM, FEM simulations, 3D printing, mechanism design, actuator selection and design, C++, actuation & controls, sensing, silicone casting
- High attention to detail and ability to grasp concepts within a broad context, including impacts on robotics and AI
- Excellent academic track record
- High motivation and problem-solving ability
- Capable of both working independently and collaborating in a team
- Fluent English speaker
- Experience in hands-on engineering and prototyping, such as Formula Student, Hyperloop, Extracurriculars, Thesis, etc.
- Bonus: Experience designing parts for machining (CNC), including GD&T, and for mid-scale production (SLS, SLA, injection molding, die-casting)
