About the role
We are looking for a talented individual to join our FinOps (Finance Operations) team. In this role, based in Zürich, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of MSRe closing process. Reporting to the Group Closing Manager based in Zürich, your primary focus will be on US ledgers with an emphasis on reinsurance items
Your responsibilities
Being the main point of contact for all topics related to US general ledgers and managing of end-to-end general ledger closing process
Ensuring the accuracy of the reinsurance items, both in P&L and BS, into the ledger. This covers reconciliations, investigations on specific policies or Line of Business, preparation of manual bookings.
Controlling and oversight on the other items of the ledger (Investments / OPEX incl. accruals / Tax / Cash / Reinsurance and Non-Reinsurance balances…)
Responsible for internal governance of internal controls, including J-SOX, related to the ledger
Leading analytical review and substantiation of the ledger for the quarterly closing process
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year end IFRS reporting (IFRS 4 and IFRS 17)
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (Actuarial team, Credit Control, Reporting team, FP&A, Risk Management, Tax team…)
Contribution to internal and external audit
Various ad hoc clarifications
Support in projects
Your profile
Minimum 3 years’ experience in controlling or auditing functions
Commercial/accounting education or any comparable business studies
Chartered Accountant or CFA holder would be a plus
Experience in re/insurance is a plus
Good knowledge of MS-Office and General Ledger systems
Good communication skills, hands-on working style; team spirit, proactivity and flexibility
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; any additional language would be an asset
