Position OverviewThe Lab Operations Manager for EMEA is a pivotal role within our prestigious technology client account. This position will lead the day-to-day operations of laboratory spaces across the region, ensuring exceptional service delivery while optimizing processes, managing vendors, and driving continuous improvement. As part of our global Lab Operations team, this role combines technical facility knowledge with strong leadership capabilities to create seamless laboratory environments that enable our client's innovation and success.
Core ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementDrive day-to-day operations of projects within technology labs across the client account
Manage lab operations requests and projects across EMEA technical spaces
Support lab stakeholders with equipment installation, maintenance, and space planning
Coordinate preventive maintenance and respond to urgent maintenance calls
Ensure proper equipment data entry and asset tagging in the Global Asset Management system
Oversee lab renovations, buildouts, and updates throughout EMEA region
Support for onsite and offsite storage coordination of logistic activities
Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate lab requests and projects from initiation through completion
Take the lead in liaising with the JLL operations teams for office spaces in the same building but not specifically lab related. Maintain a JLL one team approach to solve interface or coordination challenges.
Change ManagementHost and facilitate a comprehensive change management program across EMEA sites
Review all change requests with regional committees
Drive discussions and escalate issues through proper channels
Vendor ManagementWork with third-party vendors to manage projects and services across EMEA
Develop and maintain vendor relationships for consistent service delivery
Oversee contractor compliance with regional regulations and client standards
Implement JLL's Strategic Sourcing processes to optimize vendor performance
Financial ManagementDevelop and manage lab operations budgets for EMEA sites
Process and validate invoices for services rendered
Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service quality
Track financial performance against targets
Utilize JLL's Financial Excellence practices to ensure proper governance
People ManagementLead regional lab operations teams
Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members
Establish clear performance metrics and accountability
Coordinate with global Lab Ops team on best practices and standards
Embody JLL's People First philosophy in all management practices
Client Satisfaction & Service OptimizationDevelop and implement service improvements based on client feedback
Create standardized processes across EMEA sites, regularly review an update for continuous improvement
Conduct regular service reviews with client stakeholders
Identify innovation opportunities to enhance lab operations
Candidate RequirementsExperience and QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of progressive experience managing corporate real estate services or technical facilities
Demonstrated track record in laboratory operations management or specialized technical environments
Proven experience in vendor management, including contract negotiation, SLA development, and performance oversight
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and financial reporting
Experience leading teams across multiple locations with demonstrated success in people management
Prior experience supporting technology clients or research facilities highly preferred
Experience working in international, multi-cultural environments across EMEA
Technical KnowledgeUnderstanding of laboratory systems, equipment, and infrastructure requirements
Working knowledge of maintenance management systems and asset tracking protocols
Familiarity with change management processes in technical environments
Understanding of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations as they apply to laboratory settings
Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools
