Job Description Summary
The Director Cardiovascular Disease Area, Commercial and Launch Strategy Internationalis is responsible for managing the assets vision and strategy. In collaboration with the Cardiovascular Disease Area Brand Team, prioritize key initiatives for key products in key geographies and ensure effective execution of our Brand Strategy to ensure maximal patient access, commercial success, and LCM in the context of LoE extension in key markets.The incumbent will be focused on top countries and Regions as defined in I-R-C model and together with Value & Access team (V&A), International Medical Affairs (IMA), Customer & Market Activation, will forge optimal plans to create the optimal strategy to further accelerate Novartis leadership in cardiovascular diseases, with a strong focus on ASCVD.
Job Description
Major accountabilities:
- Co-ownership of strategy and performance in top markets and regions to prioritize strategic drivers and create international strategies and tactics.
- Contribute and refine over time with CRM ED, a relevant/ actionable fit-for-purpose plan as part of the One Brand Plan
- Assess over time relevant/ actionable fit-for-purpose plan/initiatives as part of the Commercialization and LCM
- Facilitate cross-functional decisions for International and above-brand strategic initiatives
- Represent products in scope in cross-functional forums.
- Monitor key market performance, events and competitive landscape to loop-back into strategies updates and tactics
- Drive delivery of Brand strategic objectives, customer target segments, Go-To-Market (GTM) principles, global initiatives, and significant investments
- Enable close partnering with Customer & Market Activation, Business Ops, Int MA, Int V&A, Corporate functions and GDD by steering deep cross-functional understanding, communication, planning and implementation.
- Manage brand investment to ensure respect of allocated budget
- Contribute actively to the development a high-performance team as part of CVi DA Team and build effective and long-lasting business relationships with key customers / stakeholders.
- Monitor the evolving CV environment from scientific, policy/access point of view
Essential requirements:
- At least 10 years of commercial experience across functions (incl. sales, marketing, commercial strategy, medical affairs, value & access). Experience in Cardiovascular as a plus
- Experience of working directly or indirectly with Top 10 International markets (esp. Germany, China, and Japan)
- Good communication skills & experience in engaging with Senior management
- Experience demonstrating cross functional stakeholder management and navigating complexity
- Country specific experience demonstrating ability to deliver immediate impact with key stakeholders
- Experience in owning and driving the successful commercialization of an asset across the lifecycle from early development to post-launch and mature brands
Preferred requirements:
- Track record of successfully leading strategic cross functional projects and generating momentum for key brand initiatives
- Proven ability to collaborate in a cross-functional setup
- Strong desire and willingness to support countries and drive performance by shaping & executing prioritized international projects
Location: This role is based in Basel, Switzerland.
