About the Role:
As a deputy director you will manage a team of analysts and senior analyst for region with the core task is to deliver authoritative analysis of political, economic, business and social developments for the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief for a designated region in a timely, relevant and actionable way to clients in government, NGOs, multinational corporations and the financial sector.
We expect a relevant MA or PhD (in politics, economics, international relations or similar) and preferably some years working in a similar role.
You Will:
A Deputy Director performs all the tasks of a Senior Analyst, in addition to which they:
chair the morning conference when the Director of Analysis is absent or otherwise engaged;
serve as Editor of the Day when the Director of Analysis is absent or otherwise engaged, having ultimate responsibility for what is published on that day (with regard to accuracy, forecasting and legal liability);
acts as Page 2 editor routinely;
line manages three or four Analysis staff members, setting objectives and measuring progress in line with priorities agreed with the Director of Analysis;
assists and advises the Director on all aspects of the day-to-day management of the department;
acts as a mentor to Senior Analysts and upholds analytical and writing standards; takes an active role in representing Analysis and the wider firm with clients at internal and external events and with the broadcast media; and
performs one or two unique roles within the team, such as writing the Weekly Email to clients and marketing prospects; managing the OADB calendar; overseeing training modules for new hires and existing staff; delivers global presentations at conferences and events when the Director of Analysis is not available to do so; or manages the Shift and Production editors; or is responsible for developing longer-range forecasting material within the OADB.
You Have:
