To strengthen our team in Switzerland, we are looking for an Automation Lead (M/F/X) to report to the Director – Automation & MES – EMEA Region.
ABOUT THE JOB:
The Automation Technical Lead is responsible for the design, develop, and deliver automation solutions for CAPEX projects, ensuring flawless scope, cost and schedule management as well as reliable and compliant operation of the control system(s) installed at the project.
Main Responsibilities:
- Acting on behalf of the company’s guidance and technical direction in all matters related to the Automation and MES.
- Act as Automation Technical Authority for 3rd Party Package Unit (PU) integration into the overall Project Automation / OT landscape.
- Support the overall Project Team to collate supporting information to allow timely decisions to be made that will minimize cost, timeline and quality impact on the Project.
- Act as facilitator to quickly identify issues and find solutions to Automation/MES topics between all affected parties.
- Implement and improve the value of the existing automation standards and practices.
- Coordinate software documentation efforts and assist in project schedule development, ensuring timely completion of software, hardware, and validation tasks.
- Manage technical staff in software configuration, coding, hardware specification, and control panel design.
- Supervise external engineering contractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide routine project management updates and technical input for equipment procurement and vendor selection.
- Facilitate the integration of Automation and MES into the site wide OSI Pi Historian system.
- Review and approve Automation and MES Requirements, Design, Test and Qualification / Validation documents.
- Provide technical guidance on DeltaV system configuration for utility and process systems which may monitored and controlled by the DeltaV DCS
o Clean Utility generation, storage and distribution systems
o Environmental Monitoring System.
- Provide guidance and technical direction to the external System Integrator for the generation and testing of the DeltaV DCS software configuration.
- Collaborate with the MES team to facilitate deployment of electronic logbooks eLogs, and integration with DeltaV.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor’s degree or trade qualification in Engineering (Electrical / Chemical / Process Control, or related field).
- Full end to end management of Automation and MES projects
- Knowledge of applicable Regulatory Requirements and Codes of Practices for automated system, including CFR 21 Part 11, GAMP 5.
- Leadership experience with ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and foster positive interactions with team members and stakeholders.
- Profound knowledge of systems (e.g. SAP, BMS, PCS (e.g. DeltaV), PLC (e.g. Siemens SCADA), OSI PI Historian) and GMP.
- Extensive experience in engineering / maintenance preferably in the aseptic manufacturing area.
